Daniel R. Butt is a California attorney whose practice focuses on real estate, land use, landlord-tenant matters, construction, contracts, purchases and acquisitions, and related business disputes. He also advises clients on estate planning.

He is licensed to practice in California and appears in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has tried numerous cases, including jury trials.

In addition to his law license, Mr. Butt holds a California real estate broker’s license and a California contractor’s license. That combination is unusual and useful: he understands deals, title, and occupancy issues as a lawyer and how buildings are built, permitted, and paid for.

He has practiced in Point Richmond since 2012 and is active in the local business community, including as President of the Point Richmond Business Association and as a board member of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the Working Waterfront Coalition.
